Hotwire’s public company timeline starts in 2002, when founders (including CEO Kristin Karp, with co-founder Michael Karp) set out to serve multi-family apartment communities with cable TV, internet, and phone — then quickly committed to owning a fiber plant rather than reselling someone else’s last mile.
